COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Police have confirmed Arangio has killed himself.

They said they lost contact with the suspect about an hour ago, and sent a robot in to check the apartment.

Officials hope to have an autopsy done late Saturday or early Sunday.

They said he possibly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police are reopening streets in the area, but apartment residents will remain displaced until everything is confirmed safe.

Colorado Springs Police officers said they have made contact with 24-year-old Michael Arangio in an apartment at The Resort at University Park.

That's on Whistler Point, near University Park.

He's the man believed to have shot and killed three teenagers Wednesday night on Mira Loma Circle and Montebello Drive.

Police said they have used tear gas to try and coax Arangio out of the apartment, but he is refusing to come out.
