COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Josh Carrier, the Colorado Springs Police officer accused of sexually assaulting at least six children, officially resigned from the department Thursday.
Carrier was originally arrested for possession of child pornography in early May, but the more serious accusations of sexual assault surfaced about a week later.
Carrier worked as a resource officer at Horace Mann Middle School a few years ago and volunteered as the wrestling coach. While working as the coach, Carrier allegedly touched students inappropriately in his office.
He had been suspended without pay during the investigation against him but tendered his resignation prior to his June 14 hearing, where he was terminated but appealed.
