COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have another bank robbery to deal with, this the sixteenth of 2011.
Police are looking for a man who robbed ENT Credit Union in the 3500 block of Hartsel Drive, which is near the intersection of Woodmen Road and Rangewood Drive in the city.
Officers did not have a lot of details but said the man had a gun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash around 10:37 a.m. Tuesday.
Witnesses described him as a white man about 22 years old, wearing blue jeans, a black and grey button-up striped shirt and a black baseball hat. He is about 5'11" with a medium build and had a black bandana over his face.
Police thought they had the man in custody, but a witness said the man in the back of the police car was not the suspect.
The man drove away in a silver Dodge Caliber that was parked in the cul-de-sac on Sydney Terrace facing Brisbane Drive.
More than half of this year's bank robberies have been cleared with arrest, but the 16 this year is almost twice as many as the nine bank robberies in the city in 2010.
