PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A Pueblo man who shot at police and led them on a chase last year has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Jeffrey Anthony Romero pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder on Tuesday in exchange for the dismissal of other charges.

According to the Pueblo Chieftain, the sentence for the 37-year-old man was part of the plea agreement for dismissing the other charges that included possession of controlled substances, eluding police, reckless driving and criminal mischief.
