COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are investigating yet another robbery at a Walgreens in the city, this time by a man with a rifle.
According to police, a man entered the Walgreens in the 3400 block of North Academy Boulevard with a towel over his face and a rifle in his hand around 1:49 a.m. Tuesday. The man pointed the rifle at the clerk and demanded money.
The man fled westbound with an undisclosed amount of money. Police attempted a canine track, but it was unsuccessful.
Nobody was hurt in the robbery.
On May 22, the Walgreens in the 900 block of Circle Drive was robbed by a man disguised as a pirate, and that same store was robbed twice before, once on Feb. 27 and again March 16.
One week before the pirate robbery, the Walgreens in the 2900 block of North Nevada Avenue was robbed.
Near the end of March, a man robbed a Walgreens pharmacy on Chelton Road near Academy Boulevard.
A man responsible for four robberies at knifepoint back in March hit up the Walgreens in the 300 block of Union Boulevard March 9.
The first Walgreens robbery of 2011 came Jan. 11 at the store in the 4700 block of Flintridge Drive.
Police said suspect in the latest robbery is a white man who is about 5'10" and weighs about 200 pounds. He had a black baggy shirt, white baggy shorts.
