PENROSE, COLO. -- The man originally suspected of shooting and killing 30-year-old August Michael Kaleta Jr. Monday morning has been released from jail after questioning, according to Fremont County Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies found Kaleta in the doorway of a mobile home in a trailer park in the 500 block of I Street off Highway 115. He appeared to have suffered several gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
Several other people were there as well.
The suspect. 23-year-old Daniel Matthew Haywood, was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. Haywood knew Kaleta, but deputies did not say how.
Haywood was released Tuesday, and deputies did not file charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
