COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs police officer has been arrested for child pornography possession. Sergeant Steve Noblitt with the Colorado Springs Police Department released a statement saying 30-year-old Josh Carrier has been placed on indefinite administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Officials said CSPD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit learned Carrier may have made purchases from a child pornography website. They said they have reason to believe Carrier's activities are limited to only photos.
Carrier has been with department for seven years. Officials said his roles have led him to several assignments with children in the community, including school resource officer at Horace Mann Middle School, coach of the Police Athletic League, and an advisor to youth in the CSPD Explorer Program.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call CSPD ICAC Unit at 719-444-7708.
