COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It was a night to celebrate as Brian Wright, a medivac with the Army National Guard, returned home from Iraq, two days ahead of schedule.
"The only way I could get here on time was to call a very good friend of mine and have him pick me up in the helicopter," Wright said.
The last minute homecoming is all part of a surprise for his third grade son Coleman, who had no idea his father was coming home.
Only a few people at Imagine Indigo Ranch school and Coleman's mother, Natasha Wright, were in on the secret. School officials got the call Thursday morning around 11:30 a.m. that Coleman's father would be landing by helicopter in their field, right on time for his son's concert.
"I had not cried in months, and I think I broke down three times today knowing he's going to be here," Natasha said.
Approximately 20 percent of the students at Imagine Indigo Ranch have family in the military, so moments like these really touch the heart.
