COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police arrested a man they said assaulted a police officer while out of control, threatening to hurt himself and others as well.

The mother of 32-year-old Andrew Farris called police because her son was 'out of control.' She said Farris was breaking things in the house and threatening to hurt himself and others.

When police arrived at the home in the 2000 block of Broken Circle Road, Farris became aggressive and threatened to hurt officers. Police were finally able to gain control of Farris and get him into handcuffs, but he intentionally head butted an officer while being taken to the police car.

Police charged Farris with second degree assault on a peace officer. They said several people were treated for minor injuries.
