Mario Nichols allegedly shot Domanique Griffin multiple times Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police have identified the victim of Tuesday night's shooting as 22-year-old Domanique Griffin, who also lived in the city.
Griffin was shot in the 4400 block of Pikes Peak Avenue near Murray Boulevard around 7:22 p.m. Tuesday, and witnesses said multiple people fled the scene after the shooting. Griffin died at the scene.
The El Paso County Coroner's Office completed an autopsy and ruled Griffin's death a homicide, saying he was shot multiple times.
The alleged shooter was Mario Nichols, who police arrested Wednesday morning. Police charged Nichols with first degree murder.
This is the second homicide in Colorado Springs in 2011.
