COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs is the holiest city in America, according to Men's Health.
The magazine ranked the 100 largest cities in the U.S. by looking at the number of places of worship per capita, the count of religious organizations and the amount of volunteers who support such groups, the amount of money donated to religious affiliations and money spent on religious books.
Sources include the Yellow Pages, the U.S. Census, VolunteeringAmerica, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Mediamark Research
The magazine jokes that Colorado Springs may be number one because it sits about 6,000 feet above sea level, which is 'closer to Heaven' than any other city in the study.
Rounding out the top five is Greensboro, N.C., Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kan. and Indianapolis.
Burlington, Vt. was deemed least religious city in the top 100.
