PURE Paranormal invites the public to 'Ghoul School'
CRIPPLE CREEK, COLO. -- In today's college world you can take classes on just about anything. Classes like, 'Philosophy and Star Trek,' 'Vampirology' and even 'The Science of Superheroes.' When I was going to school I actually took a class that broke down the song 'American Pie.'
Recently I was offered the opportunity, by a group named PURE Paranormal, to attend a class call "Ghoul School". As a skeptic of anything related to ghosts or the paranormal it sounded interesting. So I agreed to go. To study up for the class I began watching shows like Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters. With their high production values and overzealous hosts, the shows didn't do anything to sway my skepticism. Would Ghoul School?
The class covered everything 'ghost' from digital recording devices, meters that measure temperature change and even something called a ghost box, which is basically a modified AM/FM radio. One of the co-founders of PURE Paranormal, Masandra Gray, describes the class as an educational process where they teach people what paranormal investigators do. The class emphasized that the goal of a ghost hunt is to gather evidence that proves the paranormal exist. The class lasted about three hours, and after learning the ABC's of hunting, we then packed up and headed to two known haunted buildings in Cripple Creek for an overnight investigation. What we found may or may not surprise you, but did it sway my doubts?
