COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Vanguard School at Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy has topped the charts in CSAP scores once again. After test results were released Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. by the Colorado Department of Education, it was widely reported that writing scores across the state of Colorado are down from previous years. However, CSAP scores at The Vanguard School consistently rise above the trend.
Students of The Vanguard School earned the highest average composite ACT score in the state of Colorado for the second consecutive year, with a score of 27.8. Ninth graders excelled with 100 percent proficiency in Reading and Writing. Tenth graders were 100 percent proficient in Reading.
This is the third consecutive year that 9th graders have scored 100% “Proficient” to Advanced” in Reading, and the second consecutive year that 10th grade students have shown 100% “Proficient” to “Advanced” Reading scores on the CSAP.
The success does not stop with reading and writing. Fifty percent of 10th graders scored “Advanced” in Math and 93% of 10th graders scored “Proficient” to “Advanced” in Math.
Colin Mullaney, the Principal of The Vanguard School, congratulated the returning teachers in a highly anticipated staff meeting where the successful results were released. Teachers have said they plan on passing the hearty congratulations on to the returning students at the start of the school year.
