COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The Phil Long Expo Center will be jamming as some of Nashville's hottest artists come to town for the RW Colorado Country Music Expo and Fan Fair.
Loretta Webster, one of the organizers of the event, stopped by FOX21 Morning News Thursday with country recording artist (and Pueblo native) Candice Crain.
Headlining the event is Darryl Worley, but music fans will also hear the likes of nearly 40 musical acts -- including Trent Tomlinson, The Roys, Gary Lear, Veronica Ballestrini and, of course, Crain.
It's the first time an event like this has ever been put on in the state of Colorado, Webster said.
Fans will get to hear the artists perform on the stage, anywhere between 15 minutes up to one hour, she said. At the same time, there will be meet and greet sessions throughout the room where fans will be able to get up close and personal.
One of the best parts, Webster said, is that a portion of the ticket sales go to local charities.
The DFMWR at Fort Carson provides family services to soldiers who are stationed at The Mountain Post.
And, NeighborWorks in Pueblo assists residents transition to homeownership.
The show runs both Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11 at the Phil Long Expo Center.
Doors open at 10 a.m. each day.
Tickets are $20 for adults per day; $10 for kids age 6-12 per day; kids under age 6 are free.
