DENVER (AP) -- Prosecutors say a woman convicted of driving drunk and killing two Connecticut librarians in a taxi on their way to Denver's airport could face up to 36 years in prison when she's sentenced in June.
Investigators told jurors Sandra Jacobson's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit several hours after the crash.
The 41-year-old was crying and trembling as she was escorted out of the courtroom Wednesday. She told reporters that authorities should have investigated the taxi driver. Jacobson's attorney is promising an appeal.
The Centennial woman claimed she had a banana schnapps cocktail after the accident and didn't realize the crash had occurred.
Prosecutors described Jacobson as unrepentant after the crash, saying she never said she was sorry after learning the two women were killed.
