This genetic disorder where the twenty-first chromosome splits into three, basically coming down to bad math.
That's what are featured family -- the Harmon's were told when their first son Nick was born 17 years ago.
Now with two boys -- both with Down Syndrome, this family thrives on love, respect and the knowledge that everyday is pretty much just like yours and mine.
The upcoming Buddy Walk aims to raise awareness as well as money for families and our local Down Syndrome Association.
Donations are geared towards everything from scholarships, medical, recreational and social programs, and even a special needs trust.
The Buddy Walk takes place this Saturday at Memorial Park in Manitou Springs.
Registration begins at 8:30am in the morning with the walk around 10am. Just log onto buddywalk.org for more information.
