DENVER (AP) -- Co-workers say two women killed in a suspected hit-and-run accident en route to the Denver airport were librarians from Old Greenwich, Conn.

Perrot Memorial Library Director Kevin McCarthy told the Greenwich Time the victims were 54-year-old Kathy Krasniewicz and 71-year-old Kate McClelland.

Krasniewicz was head of youth services. McClelland had retired but still served as a children's storyteller. They had attended a convention in Denver.

Denver authorities haven't released the names.

Police say the women were thrown from the cab on Wednesday after it was hit by a pickup that left the scene. The taxi driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested 40-year-old Sandra Lee Jacobson on suspicion of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
