FORT CARSON, COLO. -- The massive wave of in-bound troops continued Wednesday morning at Fort Carson.

The Mountain Post welcomed back nearly 200 soldiers during its recent homecoming. They're all part of the 3 BCT, 4 ID, and are returning after a 15-month deployment. It's another group of the returning brigade that's made up of approximately 3,800 soldiers.

The morning began with a caravan of police escorts as bus after bus made their way to the Fort Carson special events center where it was standing room only as families and friends prepared to welcome home their heroes.

Briana Bradley couldn't hold back her tears. She's glad to have her man home for special reasons, "...I don't have to keep fixing the dryer by myself...no, it's wonderful," she said, laughing.

At home families say surviving deployment starts with strong will and honesty.

"Some good friends are always a good thing, too," said the Tripp family. "Have a good support group of friends, that's the biggest thing. Having best friends to be there when you need someone to call."

So now that reality has set in, everyone's home, happy, healthy and safe, what's something Mr. Tripp doesn't know yet?

"Oh, I don't know. There's a lot of stuff he doesn't know yet," Mrs. Tripp laughed.

She later mentioned a little dent in their new truck.

By now, SFC Dennis Tripp has found out.
