EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County officials have mailed ballots to more than 200,000 registered voters in the county for the June 26 primary election.
The Clerk and Recorder's Office mailed the 203,000 ballots Monday.
Democratic, Republican and American Constitution primaries will be June 26, with the winners to move forward as their respective party's nominees for the 2012 Presidential General election in November.
Voters must be affiliated with one of the three major parties in order to receive a ballot, and voters will only get the ballot for the party they have a registered affiliation with. The deadline has passed for voters to switch affiliations, and unaffiliated voters have until June 19 to declare a party in order to receive a ballot by mail.
Unaffiliated voters can affiliate themselves with a party online, in person at a Clerk and Recorder's office branch or through mail by downloading and printing the voter registration form.
Ballots should arrive at voters' homes this week.
