It was August 1982 at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Lakeview Street in Pueblo when Thomas Cortinas and Cheryl Valdez were driving and stopped at the intersection. Police say the suspect and victim knew each other and the victim was best friends with Cortinas' wife. But the drive took a deadly turn.
