COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Halloween, Thanksgiving and even Black Friday.

All have passed, and still the weather remains warm and dry.

While you are hanging your holiday lights this week, you may also want to pull out your garden hose, and water your yard.

"It has been a beautiful fall, and now we are into Christmas sales, which is normally our main focus this time of year," Sharon Harding-Shaw with Harding Nursery said.

Even though Christmas trees and wreaths are Harding's main sell right now, the nursery is of course already thinking about spring, and planing new life.

And it appears they are not alone, as the nursery's non-holiday sales are steady.

"With the nice weather we have people that are still planting, and landscapers that are still installing full landscapes," Harding-Shaw said. "It is an excellent time to be planting."

And not just planting, but also watering.

The experts at Harding Nursery said your lawn, and trees, need to be watered at least once a week when the weather is above 40 degrees.

"Even though it is winter and the plants are going dormant, you are losing moisture our of your soil," Harding-Shaw said. "You need to be adding moisture so you do not end up with dry roots."

"When talking trees, if you have noticed one in your yard that seems to be a bit confused and is already budding, do not panick.

"They will be fine, they will not leaf out, the flowers will freeze and fall off and they will go back dormant," Harding-Shaw said.
