COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Thursday was a day beer lovers have looked forward to all year. Bristol Brewing Company released its Venetucci Pumpkin Ale and just like in the six years before it was a hit.

Each year the beer grows in popularity making it harder and harder to get ahold of one.

"I took vacation from work today because I was really excited about Venetucci Farms and Bristol," Brandon Scott said. Scott was first in line and arrived at 10:03 a.m.

"I've brought a great book and had some great friends with me so it's been an enjoyable day," Scott said.

Others weren't far behind him. Some seasoned pros and some experiencing the madness for the first time.

"First time try," Fabian Deandra, who was number 30 in line, said. "I got a lot of faith in it I guess."

Eric Lerche and his friends found themselves in the middle of the madness unsuspectingly.

"We're here for a conference and me and my buddies here we love microbrews so we just searched Bristol Brewing Company and by happenstance ended up finding this today and we ended up sticking around because of good beer," Lerche said.

He ended up being number 35 in line.

"By some lucky out-of-towners it's a pretty good number," Lerche said.

All the proceeds from the Venetucci Pumpkin Ale sales go back to Venetucci Farm.

The farm was established in 1936 and each year thousands of children visit the farm and are given a pumpkin.

"Mr. Venetucci always wanted the kids to have a pumpkin and the Pikes Peak Foundation wants to continue that and if this is how I can help that then so be it, and I get to drink a really good beer in the process," Chuck Eberhart, who was number 25 in line, said.

So is the beer worth the wait?

"Mike figured out how to bottle sex," Eberhart said.

"It grows on you," Lerche said. "It's a top two pumpkin beer I've ever had."

But whether these beer lovers are enthusiastic or just plain crazy is still up in the air.

"I'm ok with waiting. I don't think they are crazy, they're beer fans like I am," Deandra said.

"There's got to be a little insanity to do this absolutely," Eberhart said.

To date Bristol has raised around $95,000 for Venetucci Farm.
