Suspect wanted for charge of manslaughter turns himself in

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Billie Thomas Allen, 25, has been arrested.

He was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting at a local hotel.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said Allen turned himself in today in Canon City.

He was wanted for the charge of manslaughter.

The shooting happened around 9:15 Saturday morning at the Days Inn on Rusina Road, just off I-25 and Garden of the Gods Road.

Officers were initially told 29-year-old Justin Dore had been accidentally shot.

Dore was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with additional information on the shooting is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
