U.S. Figure Skating hosts 'skatefest' for community at Acacia Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - U.S. Figure Skating hosted a free "skatefest" for all ages and skill levels on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs.

Members of the 2018 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team were there to skate along with the community and attendees had the opportunity to support them by donating to the U.S. Figure Skating's Destination Pyeongchang Family Tree Program, which provides direct financial support to the families of each 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Olympian.

The Olympic Winter Games will take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February 2018. Local Colorado Springs Olympic hopefuls include 2010 Olympian Miarai Nagasu, 2014 Olympian Jason Brown, 2013 U.S. Champion Max Aaron and 2015 U.S. Pairs Champions Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim.
