COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - In honor to recognize outstanding officers who go above and beyond the call of duty, the annual Ken Jordan Award for Excellence in DUI Enforcement ceremony happened Tuesday, Feb. 13.
The award was created by the Pikes Peak Region DUI Task Force, recognizing 10 outstanding officers from five different agencies.
All the officers were being recognized by their peers for regularly going the extra mile in DUI enforcement.
One of this year's recipients of the award, Officer Glenn Thomas with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
"Losing Ken was hard, winning this with his name associated with it, is an extreme honor, winning against the other officers I work with that are working in the region, also is an extreme honor, we have a lot of quality officers in DUI enforcement," said Thomas.
Jordan was a CSPD officer who was killed in 2006 during a routine traffic stop of a suspected drunk driver.
