Immigration forum to be held this week in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - What do you think needs to be done to reform the country's immigration issues?

The first community conversation on immigration issues will be held this Thursday, Feb. 15 at the Southeast YMCA in Colorado Springs.

There will be a panel of local leaders, including members of City Council, the Sheriff's Office, Colorado Springs Police Department, an immigration attorney, DACA recipients, a public school administrator, and more.

"Educating the community is a core part of what we've done for 25 years, including convening public conversations about relevant issues. Right now immigration is one of the most misunderstood issues. There's a lot of false information, both locally and nationally so we are really excited to have a community conversation about immigration," said Deb Walker with The Citizen's Project.
