Colorado sends fire engines to support firefighting efforts in California

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado is sending 17 fire engines on Wednesday, Dec. 6 to support California wildfire operations.

The fire engines will be deployed for 14 days and will support CalFire. They will travel to Chino, California for staging and assignments.

The following agencies are being deployed to California:

Deer Mountain Fire Protection District
Elk Creek Fire Fire Protection District
Grand Fire Protection District
Grand Junction Fire Department
Mountain View Fire Protection District
North-West Fire Protection District
West Metro Fire Department
Arvada Fire Protection District
Aurora Fire Protection District
Castle Rock Fire Department
Donald Wescott Fire Protection District
Gypsum Fire Department
Lake Dillon Fire Department
North Metro Fire Department
Security Fire Protection District
South Arkansas Fire Department

The Global Supertanker has also been sent to California to aid in firefighting efforts.
