COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - One dog is getting an education of his own at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.
Meet Skip! He's part of the Guide Dog Community Service Project.
The puppy and his handler Karen Gay are learning the ropes by interacting with students at the school.
The project is a good way for the students to learn some real life lessons.
"They learn about community and of giving beyond yourself and I think that is a good lesson no matter what the age we are...to be able to love a pup for a year and then let them go to someone who needs them is super important," said Gay.
After about a year, Skip will move on to a more intensive training program and will eventually be paired up with a visually impaired person who needs him.
