PUEBLO, Colo. (November 21, 2016) -- Police are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who caused serious injuries to a bicyclist in July.
Police say it happened July 29 just after 6 p.m. in the area of West Northern Avenue and Cambridge Avenue.
According to authorities, the bicyclist suffered serious injuries due to the crash and was transported to a Denver hospital for treatment where he is undergoing physical therapy because of his injuries.
Police say they found the car - a white Audi - a day later abandoned on the south side of Pueblo. The car was not registered or insured.
Authorities conducted an investigation and have issued a warrant for 21-year-old Mariah Apodaca for multiple charges including hit and run involving injury, tampering with physical evidence, false reporting and careless driving causing injury.
UPDATE (January 9, 2017): Apodaca has been arrested.
