Man pleads guilty to manslaughter in connection with death of boy who fell near Gold Camp Road

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man has pled guilty to manslaughter after a child fell to his death in Cheyenne Cañon in March.

Kyle McClain, 28, pled guilty Wednesday to reckless manslaughter, which is a class four felony.

The boy, 7-year-old Kaivion Eleby, fell about 100 feet to his death during a hike near Gold Camp Road on March 17. Prosecutors said the grand jury found the area where the death occurred presented an "obvious and apparent danger." They also found alcohol was a factor in the incident, according to prosecutors.

McClain will be sentenced February 21.
