Teen killed in Colorado Springs shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A teen was killed in a shooting in central Colorado Springs early Saturday morning.

Police said the shooting happened around 2:10 a.m. in the area of Pikes Peak Avenue and Farragut Avenue. When police arrived, they found Desmond Smith, a 14-year-old boy from Colorado Springs, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Three people have been arrested in connection with Smith's death.

Raymond Rogan Jr. was arrested for Murder in the First Degree. Rogan Jr. is an 18-year-old man from Colorado Springs.

Raymond Rogan Sr. was arrested for Accessory to First Degree Murder After the Fact and Tampering with Evidence. Rogan Sr. is a 35-year-old man from Colorado Springs.

Riccardo Kirven was also arrested for Murder in the First Degree. Kirven is a 31-year-old man from Colorado Springs.

This marks the 12th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2015. There were 12 homicides at this time last year.
