    Thursday, April 01, 2010  A parade through downtown is being held Friday night for the U.S. Nordic sports team that won medals at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Before the Vancouver games, the only Olympic medals won by the Americans in Nordic sports were a silver by cross-country skier Bill Koch in 1976 and a bronze by ski jumper Anders Haugen in 1924.

    Wednesday, January 06, 2010  The U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) Tuesday named Scott Blackmun, a prominent sports executive and former USOC leader, as Chief Executive Officer. Blackmun returns to the USOC where he previously spent three years, including serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer from November 2000 - October 2001. He first joined the USOC in September 1998 as general counsel and director of legal affairs, and in 2000, he moved into the role of senior managing director where he was responsible for sport operations and resource allocation to NGBs and athletes.
