It's the 54th year NORAD and its predecessor have tracked Santa. The tradition started in 1955 when a newspaper ad mistakenly listed the command's phone number instead of Santa's.

Monday, November 30, 2009  Letters to Santa should be mailed no later than Dec. 15. The public can also come to the Pioneers Museum at 217 S. Tejon St. on Saturday, Dec. 5 where post office workers will have a table from 9 a.m  to 3 p.m. with a special mail box for Santa letters only, to speed children's letters directly to Santa at his workshop.
