Colorado Springs police officers arrived to the 1700 block of Auburn Drive and heard someone firing shots around 7:45 a.m. in a backyard. Police said the man leveled his gun at a home in the neighborhood. The officer shot the man as a result of being threatened, and the man was transported to a hospital, where he died.
