Colorado Springs Police have released the name of the man who was shot and killed by an officer during an altercation Friday morning.

Colorado Springs police officers arrived to the 1700 block of Auburn Drive and heard someone firing shots around 7:45 a.m. in a backyard. Police said the man leveled his gun at a home in the neighborhood. The officer shot the man as a result of being threatened, and the man was transported to a hospital, where he died.
