Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) officials are calling the Fourth of July holiday weekend patrol for fireworks a success after no fires were started in the city and no injuries were reported as a result of fireworks.

The damage is currently limited to buildings on the west side of base, parallel to the Peterson AFB flight-line. One of those buildings, Hangar 133, suffered extensive damage during the storm at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The 47-year-old man had just fled through the front doors of the bank when responding officers matched him with the description provided by bank employees minutes before. He was carrying cash that allegedly had been stolen from the bank.
