Wednesday, May 19, 2010  On Thursday, Lockheed Martin Space Systems of Jefferson County will announce what it says is a "large financial pledge" to the school. Company officials say it will also make a five-year commitment of volunteer support from Lockheed Martin's 4,300 Colorado-based employees, half of whom are engineers or scientists.

Monday, February 08, 2010  The Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, was scheduled to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday, but the launch has been moved to Wednesday.

Thursday, February 04, 2010  The satellite, called the Solar Dynamics Observatory, is designed to help scientists predict solar storms that can disrupt communications and power grids. The CU instrument is called the Extreme Ultraviolet Variability Experiment, or EVE. It will measure changes in the sun's light output.
