A chimney fire at a duplex in Colorado Springs has left several people displaced Wednesday morning.

The unnamed firefighter was responding to a gas leak at an apartment complex in Denver at about 2 a.m. Monday. Authorities say a car went off the road and hit the apartment building, rupturing a 2-inch high-pressure gas line. Five apartment residents had to leave their homes, with a gas odor reported up to a mile away.
