Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says he is hopeful the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will be cleaned up and that the coast will be restored to a condition better than it was before the disaster. Salazar made the remarks Saturday to students graduating from the Denver School of Science and Technology.

On Thursday, Lockheed Martin Space Systems of Jefferson County will announce what it says is a "large financial pledge" to the school. Company officials say it will also make a five-year commitment of volunteer support from Lockheed Martin's 4,300 Colorado-based employees, half of whom are engineers or scientists.
