It's more expensive to ski at Aspen. Aspen Skiing Co. has raised its walk-up, single-day lift ticket to $108, the second price hike in two weeks. The Aspen Daily News reported Tuesday that skiers also pay an extra $5 for the plastic card that serves as the lift ticket. The get that money back if they return the card.

The Aspen Chamber Resort Association says holiday weekend bookings would peak at about 40 percent Saturday night. Thanksgiving is typically a slower time for tourism in Aspen. Not all terrain in Aspen and Snowmass is open for skiing, and it's much quieter than the heavy Christmas-to-New Year's period.

Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says witnesses reported seeing Haley Rose Gans skiing very fast into a tree Friday. Richardson says the cause of death appears to be related to blunt force trauma to the chest.
