Tuesday, December 27, 2011  It's more expensive to ski at Aspen. Aspen Skiing Co. has raised its walk-up, single-day lift ticket to $108, the second price hike in two weeks. The Aspen Daily News reported Tuesday that skiers also pay an extra $5 for the plastic card that serves as the lift ticket. The get that money back if they return the card.

Thanksgiving is typically a slower time for tourism in Aspen. Not all terrain in Aspen and Snowmass is open for skiing, and it's much quieter than the heavy Christmas-to-New Year's period.

Friday, November 20, 2009  Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says witnesses reported seeing Haley Rose Gans skiing very fast into a tree Friday. Richardson says the cause of death appears to be related to blunt force trauma to the chest.
