Help!
Ok...so I love Marshal to death, but I do not love his pee all over my house.
No matter what I seem to do, Marshal loves to mark his territory all over my carpet and walls. My husband and I have potty trained him and he has been fixed, but he just does not seem to get the concept that he is not suposed to mark in the house. We try to let him outside as often as possible to do his business, but I guess it is not enough...or am I wrong? I have read that dogs can mark up to 80 times in one hour, is that true?
The worst part is no one can watch him while we are out of town for fear he will mark all over their house. If someone has a dog of their own it is ten times worse. When we visit my parents, who by the way do not have a dog and never have, he does a good job 95% of the time. When Marshal does make an accident my husband and I are torn on how to scold him. I have heard it is best to yell at him "NO" and then stick him outside. But, I have also heard it works to stick his nose in it while yelling at him. What do we do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I am a clean freak and I am tired of always having to wash my carpet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Or, if you just need to vent about your dog, this is a great place. The problem is they know deep down in their hearts we are always going to love them no matter how many times they make a mistake. Gosh darn it...this is a battle I have a feeling I am not going to win:)
