So it’s time to take the plunge and start a blog. The blog experts say it’s better to execute your blog with one simple topic in mind. Something that interests you and something you know quite a bit about. The theory is people will know the general subject you are writing about every time they check in. This simple instruction is what has kept me from starting the blog.
What interests me and what do I know a lot about? How about baldness? I know plenty about it, (just look at my mug) but does it really interest me? No, I could care less. In fact I look better with less hair. (Me with hair; think Larry from Three’s Company/see picture above).
How about Frank Sinatra? The subject interests me, I’m well versed in his music and history, but would anyone ever read it? My sense is “No”, since most of my friends for years referred to it as Grandpa Music (By the way… I respectfully disagree).
So after spinning the wheel the pointer has landed on the topic of sports. Sports certainly generates conversation and just about everyone has an opinion on the subject. But there will be some challenges. I generally follow and enjoy 4 sports. Baseball (season is over), College Football (you’ll hear plenty about this since I’m an Alabama graduate), NFL and Golf. Anything beyond that and I’m just not that interested. I anticipate an email from some of my old college roommates in telling me to blog about NASCAR but I won’t complain. It’s simply a part of going to college at Alabama.
