COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Kara Nichols hasn’t been seen or heard from since Oct. 9 in the Colorado Springs area, according to authorities.

The case remains active, despite a recent tip that did not pan out.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, a tip involving a possible sighting of her turned out to not be true. The Sheriff’s Office said it followed the tip and learned it was another woman.

Nichols, 19,  told her roommate that she was headed to Denver back on Oct. 9, detectives said.

No one has heard from her since and her Facebook page has not been updated. Her phone, according to authorities, has not been used either.

Nichols, who was an aspiring model, is described as being 5’8", weighing 120 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.
