COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Sexually Violent Predator has moved to Colorado Springs, according to police. 

Jerrell Jamil Evans, 30, is on supervised released and parole. His address is 3033 East Platte Avenue # 302.

Police said Evans' past behavior led him to be labeled as a "Sexually Violent Predator" by the court.

According to police, Evans has been convicted of Criminal Attempt - Second Degree Sexual Assault, Felony Menacing, Felony Criminal Attempt - Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Felony Escape. Those charges include sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl and threatening her and her family, police said.

The Police Department issued a community notification about Evans, as required by law. Neighbors and businesses in the nearby area were notified.

Evans is one of 13 Sexually Violent Predators registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
