COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are searching for the man accused of robbing a bank early Friday morning.
Police responded to the Academy Bank branch near Briargate and Union at about 7:55 a.m., Friday. An employee of the bank was intercepted by a suspect as she entered the bank, police said.
The employee was ordered to open the door and take the suspect inside, police said. That's when the suspect confronted another employee and placed them both inside the vault area.
Police said the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing.
He's described as being a white of Hispanic male, about six feet tall with a medium or large build. He was wearing a coat, blue jeans and had his face and head covered with a dark-colored hood and sunglasses.
