COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- If you have driven through the intersection of Union and Uintah you may have noticed something a bit freakish.

A house decked out with dozens of ghouls, goblins and ghosts.

"We have been doing for the past few years, and each year we add a little bit more," homeowner Shawn Vanderwege said.

"My favorite part is hanging the stuff in the sky," Jacob Vanderwege, Shawn's son, said.

If you dare to venture to the intersection, you better not go alone.

"We have some stuff flying in the air, and things on the roof," Shawn said. "Also a small graveyard, things down low, and stuff that moves and does not move."

For Jacob and his dad Shawn, the display has become a Halloween tradition.

"We were actually getting no trick-or-treaters, maybe a couple a year at the most," Shawn said.

"Last year, we had almost 100 or more," Jacob said.

"Last year we put out more (decorations), and we went through 600 pieces of candy," Shawn said.

In preparation for this year, Shawn and Jacob have stocked up with 1,000 pieces of candy, and they expect to go through it as there home continues to be the talk of the town.

"People come up and ask questions or knock on the door," Shawn said.

"They do thumbs up when they drive by, honk or come up to the door and ask questions," Jacob.
