Springs police looking for men attempting to entice children

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are asking for the public's help.

They're looking for two individuals who attempted to entice children into a vehicle Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Police said, one party may have been involved in the attempted enticement of a child Monday, January 28.

The first incident was reported Monday around 4:45 p.m. in the area of 2000 Corona St.

In the first case, two girls ages 4 and 9 were asked to get into a vehicle with a stranger.

The suspect in the first case is described as a dark skinned Hispanic man, possible late 20s, 6'2", thin build, possible black mustache, dark sunglasses, wearing a black colored "hoodie" style sweatshirt, black jeans and black shoes.

Tuesday, around 3:26 p.m., two men yelled for a 10-year-old girl to get in their vehicle and made reference to, "candy" as the young girl was walking near the intersection of West Cheyenne Road and Cresta Road.

the suspects in that case are described as Hispanic, 17-20, possibly wearing a white t-shirt and dark hair.

There's no description for the second man.

the vehicle used in the second incident Tuesday has been described as Silver, SUV style, similar to a Jeep make.

Both incidents happened after the children were walking home from school.

The community is reminded to be aware of discussing safety strategies with children.

Know your name, address and phone number

Use the buddy system, avoid walking anywhere alone

Trust your instincts, if you feel you're being followed or something is not right, seek help immediately.
