COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A death investigation is underway in Colorado Springs.

Police were called to the open space area near Uintah and Mesa, just west of I-25 around 5:30 Friday night.

A hiker found an unidentified man in a heavily wooded area.

Firefighters and the coroner's office were called in to recover the remains.

Police say, the death doesn't appear to be suspicious.

However, the coroner's office will make the final determination about how the man died.
