FOUNTAIN, COLO. -- A local mother is speaking out.

Her five-year-old daughter is one of 1st Lt. Aaron G. Lucas' alleged victims.

Lucas, a Fort Carson soldier, was arrested October 23 for a series of sex crimes spanning two years in Fountain, Colorado Springs and unincorporated El Paso County.

He is accused of exposing himself to, and trying to lure several pre-teen girls.

He is also accused of at least one alleged kidnapping, and one alleged sexual assault.

Nikki has two children, a five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son. Her neighbors also have several children.

She said Lucas came to her neighborhood off Highway 85-87 in Fountain not once, but twice this year.

"Back in June is when the first incident happened, Mr. Lucas pulled his blue Jetta into the parking space and proceeded to talk to the girls," Nikki said. "My neighbor came down to see what was going on, then she went upstairs and that is when he exposed himself to the girls."

Nikki said Lucas also said something inappropriate to the children before he was scared off by her neighbor.

"By the time my husband found out, he came flying out here and ran up and down the street, but we could not find him," she said.

Then, in October, Nikki said Lucas returned to the area.

Although this time she said her neighbor recognized him right away.

"She said 'He is back,' and that is when I jumped up and ran out the gate," Nikki said. "Mr. Lucas pulled his car out and fled down the street."

Nikki gave the Fountain Police Department a description of Lucas.

She said she was relieved when she heard he had been arrested in late October.

"It makes me wonder if I did not call the police those two times, if he would even be caught right now," Nikki said.

Nikki received a call Tuesday night from the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center, to alert her that Lucas had posted bond and was going to be released.

She said it is upsetting to know he is free once again, and added her young daughter is still struggling.

"We are looking into seeing a therapist for her, so she can talk about it," Nikki said. "She did comprehend what went on, and was affected."

FOX21 did check the El Paso County CJC inmate log, and Aaron Lucas is no long listed as being there.

Lucas' military awards include the Bronze Star and Afghan Campaign Medal.
