COLORADO -- It's been the most widely debated amendment - Amendment 64.
Official numbers are not in yet, but Colorado has unofficially passed the amendment and becomes the first state in the U.S. to legalize marijuana for recreational purposes.
The passing of the amendment will change the state's constitution to regulate marijuana like alcohol.
This means anyone 21 and older would be allowed to have and use up to one ounce of the drug.
Already, more than 100,000 people legally use marijuana for medical reasons and there are more than 500 dispensaries in Colorado.
